Pattaya – Pattaya City and Banglamung District have joined forces to support flood victims in the North of Thailand.
Led by Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya City, and Mr. Banlue Kulawanit, President of the Pattaya City Council, this collaborative effort aims to alleviate the hardships faced by those affected by recent floods.
Since August 26th, the partnership between Pattaya City, Banglamung District, Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, and various government, private, and public agencies have been instrumental in providing aid. At 4:00 p.m. on August 29th, Mr. Prasert Thongthitcharoen, President of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Unit, Pattaya City, and other foundation board members received cash and donated items from Pattaya residents.
Recognizing the ongoing challenges faced by flood victims, those involved have now discussed extending the donation period. Their unanimous decision ensures that relief efforts continue until September 5th. The generosity of Pattaya residents and the commitment of local agencies have made this extension possible.
Today, the combined efforts of Pattaya City, Banglamung District, and related agencies resulted in the collection of consumer goods, essential items, and cash donations. The foundation prepared 1,000 relief bags containing rice, dried food, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. These bags will be dispatched to flood-affected areas in the Phu Wiang District of Nan Province, covering six villages and 950 households.
The total cash donation so far by Pattaya residents amounts to 216,870 baht. Of this, 116,606 baht has been allocated to purchase rice and dry food for the relief bags. The remaining 100,264 baht will support the distribution of lunch boxes to flood victims through the Sawang Nakhon Nan United Association.
The first batch of donated items is scheduled to depart from the Sawangboriboon Foundation in Pattaya at midnight on August 30th. It is expected to reach Nan Province by 7:00 a.m. the same day.
