Pattaya City, Thailand- Pattaya City has joined forces with Banglamung District, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, and Pattaya Police Station to establish eight donation points aimed at assisting flood victims in Northern Thailand.
The initiative was spearheaded by Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya City, Mr. Prasert Thongthitcharoen, Vice President of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, and Petty Officer 1st Class Pittayaphon Kokaew, Banglamung District Chief.
The meeting to inaugurate the donation points was attended by key figures including Mr. Banlue Kulawanit, President of the Pattaya City Council, members of the Pattaya City Council, Ms. Orrawan Sukhonanwong, President of the Pattaya City Community Association, police officers from Pattaya City Police Station, heads of government agencies, and representatives from relevant organizations.
The eight donation points are strategically located to maximize accessibility for donors:
1. In front of Pattaya City Hall
2. In front of Wat Chaimongkol Royal Monastery
3. Banglamung District Hall during office hours
4. In front of Pattaya City Police Station
5. Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya City
6. Sawang Boriboon School in Soi Nen Plab Wan
7. In front of The Stones House on Walking Street
8. In front of Big C South Pattaya
Donations of dry food, canned fish, disposable diapers, drinking water, soap, toothpaste, instant noodles, and other daily necessities, as well as cash, will be accepted from August 26-30, 2024. However, second-hand clothes will not be accepted. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation will oversee the packing of donated items before they are dispatched to the flood-affected regions in the North.
Mr. Banlue Kulawanit, President of the Pattaya City Council, has generously provided large trucks to transport the relief supplies to the victims.
Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya City, emphasized the importance of community support in times of crisis. “We stand together with our brothers and sisters in the North. This initiative reflects our commitment to helping those in need.”
Mr. Prasert Thongthitcharoen, Vice President of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, highlighted the collaborative effort. “This partnership showcases the strength of our community and our dedication to providing timely assistance.”
Petty Officer 1st Class Pittayaphon Kokaew, Banglamung District Chief, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support. “The unity and generosity of our community are truly inspiring. Together, we can make a significant difference.”
