Pattaya Marathon 2024 Generates Over 297 Million Baht in Revenue

The Pattaya Marathon 2024 attracted over 30,000 people around the globe and generated 297 million baht in revenue.

On August 21st, 2024, Mr. Krisana Boonsawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, announced the successful conclusion of the 31st Pattaya Marathon, held from July 20th-21st. According to him, the event significantly boosted Pattaya’s economy, as it generated over 297 million baht in revenue. The marathon also attracted 15,000 runners from around the world, with a total of 30,000 attendees, including runners’ companions.

The Pattaya Marathon 2024 has also been certified by World Athletics, an organization of track-and-field federations representing more than 200 countries and territories, and listed in the World Athletics Road Race across all three race distances. Mr. Krisana stated that the marathon contributed both directly and indirectly to the tourism economy, further enhancing Pattaya’s reputation as a prime destination for sports tourism.

Mr. Krisana expressed gratitude to the residents of Pattaya and all involved parties for their continued support in hosting the event. He also stated that the city’s administration will review and address any issues, challenges, and suggestions from the public to improve the organization of the 32nd Pattaya Marathon in 2025. Among the planned improvements is better communication about road closures to inform residents, tourists, and road users in advance, Mr. Krisana concluded.
