Chachoengsao, Thailand- On the evening of August 22nd, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded in Village 6, Khao Din Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, when a small plane crashed into a mangrove forest area. The Bang Pakong Police Station confirmed at approximately 19:37 that the identities of two pilots and all seven passengers have been verified.
The pilots were identified only as Mr. Anucha, aged 61, originally from Phitsanulok Province, and Mr. Phonsak, aged 30, from Pathum Thani Province. Among the passengers, there were both Thai and Chinese nationals:
– **Ms. Naphak**, 34, from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
– **Ms. Siriyupa**, 25, from Phatthalung Province.
– **Ms. Jing Zhang**, 42, a Chinese national.
– **Mr. Jinfeng Yin**, 38, also from China.
– **Ms. Yu Tang**, 33, another Chinese passenger.
– **Miss Hang Yin**, 13, and **Miss Jing Jing Zhang**, 12, both minors from China.
The crash site, located in a remote part of the province known for its mangrove forests, has been sealed off by local authorities as investigations into the cause of the crash commence.
This incident marks a somber moment for the community and has drawn attention to aviation safety in the region. Human remains have been found at the crash site, although a search is ongoing as of 10:00 P.M. on August 22nd. There is also flooding in the local area which has caused further concerns. Authorities have not yet confirmed if all onboard have passed, stating only that a search is ongoing and that human remains were found.
The cause of the accident is unknown as of press time and will require an extensive investigation.
