Banglamung District and Pattaya City Collaborate to Address Traffic Congestion

Pattaya-In a concerted effort to tackle the persistent traffic congestion during rush hours and public holidays, Banglamung District Chief, Mr. Wikit Manarojkit, chaired a crucial meeting with key stakeholders just before the past weekend.

The meeting, held at Pattaya City Hall, included Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngamphiches, Pol. Col. Nawin Thirawit, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, Pol. Col. Tawi Kutthaeng, Superintendent of Nong Prue Police Station, and traffic police officers from Pattaya City, Banglamung, and Nong Prue Police Stations, along with heads of relevant government agencies.

The primary focus of the meeting was to devise effective solutions to alleviate traffic congestion in the areas under the jurisdiction of the three police stations: Pattaya City Police Station, Banglamung Police Station, and Nong Prue Police Station. The increasing number of vehicles and population has exacerbated traffic issues, necessitating a collaborative approach.

Key Resolutions from the Meeting:

1. **Integrated Traffic Management**: The meeting agreed on the integration of efforts between district authorities, police officers, Pattaya City, and Nong Prue Municipality. This includes deploying traffic officers, city law enforcement officers, volunteer traffic officers, and police officers to manage traffic at key intersections during peak hours.

2. **Strict Law Enforcement**: Police officers will strictly enforce parking regulations, particularly in no-parking zones, to free up traffic lanes and reduce congestion.

3. **Public Van Route Adjustments**: The meeting highlighted the need to update public van routes and enforce laws against illegal parking. Public vans, especially on the beach road, often slow down to pick up passengers, causing significant traffic delays. A follow-up meeting with two-row/Baht Bus vehicle operators will be organized to discuss and implement these changes.

Mr. Wikit Manarojkit emphasized the importance of these measures, stating that a dedicated working group has been established to oversee the implementation and coordination of these traffic solutions. The collaborative effort aims to ease the burden on police officers and improve traffic flow in Pattaya City and Banglamung District.
