Chonburi– Region 2 Police have arrested three suspects and seized 400,000 methamphetamine pills along with properties valued at over 30 million baht. The arrests took place in Chonburi and Rayong.
The operation began on Thursday, August 15th, when police apprehended Mr. Mana Meeborsap, 51, at a house in Borwin. Authorities confiscated 400,000 methamphetamine pills from his possession. Following this, the investigation led police to Mr. Mana’s girlfriend, identified only as Ms. Supawan, who was residing in a rental room in Rayong. She was found with 2,808 methamphetamine pills and subsequently arrested.
Mr. Mana disclosed to the police that he was hired by a man he named only as Mr. Somdet for 35,000 baht to deliver the 400,000 methamphetamine pills to an unknown destination. Acting on this information, police later arrested Mr. Somdet in Rayong. During interrogation, Mr. Somdet revealed that he had purchased the drugs from a man he named as Mr. Tao, a Myanmar national he met while previously in prison. The two had maintained contact after their release.
All three suspects are now facing charges of illegal possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell. Additionally, police have seized properties from Mr. Somdet worth a total of 30 million baht.
