Banglamung —
At 12:06 AM on August 17th, 2024, Banglamung Police officers received complaints from local residents about a large gathering of teenagers and noisy motorcycles near Krating Lai Beach in Banglamung, Chonburi.
Police officers arrived at the scene to find over 20 modified motorcycles parked along the roadside. A group of youths, aged between 13 and 18, were gathered nearby. Upon inspection, none of the 20 motorcycles had proper documentation, and some had been modified with loud exhausts, indicating they were likely used for illegal street racing.
Banglamung authorities requested the teenagers’ parents to bring the necessary documents to the police station for further verification of the bike’s legal status. Both the motorcycles and the youths were taken to the Banglamung police station for further legal proceedings, and legal action will be pursued against those with incomplete paperwork.
Mr. Woraphop Kongthanacharat, the Banglamung District Chief, noted that during school holidays, the Krating Lai Beach area in particular often becomes a hotspot for teenagers who gather to race motorcycles. In response, local authorities are stepping up efforts to prevent illegal racing and ensure road safety to the public.
