Sriracha, August 12th – In honor of Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s 92nd birthday, the Sriracha District organized a special alms-giving ceremony at the Sriracha Prachakom Building. The event was presided over by Mr. Nopparat Sriphrom, the District Chief of Sriracha.
The ceremony began with Mr. Nopparat Sriphrom paying respect by offering incense sticks, candles, and opening a flower tray in front of the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. This was followed by a chanting of Buddhist scriptures by ten monks, the offering of monk robes, and senior civil servants presenting traditional Thai offerings to the monks.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Outstanding Women Award plaque, recognizing mothers who have made significant contributions to society. One woman from each of the eight sub-districts received this honor.
Following the awards, an alms-giving ceremony was held, where dry food and rice were offered to 59 monks. This act of merit-making was led by Mr. Nopparat Sriphrom, alongside government officials, municipal executives, council members, local leaders, educational administrators, and representatives from both the public and private sectors. People from all walks of life participated in the ceremony, reflecting the community’s respect and admiration for Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
The event celebrated Her Majesty’s dedication and contributions to the Thai people, highlighting her role in promoting the Sufficiency Economy philosophy and her tireless efforts for the happiness and peace of her people. Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother remains an inspiration and a source of morale for all Thai citizens.
