Joint Venture Releases Large Amount of Aquatic Animals into Banglamung Sea for Queen Mother’s 92nd Birthday

Banglamung, August 8th, 2024– In a significant environmental initiative, a Joint Venture organized the release of many aquatic animals into the sea of Banglamung to commemorate Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s upcoming 92nd birthday anniversary on August 12th. The event took place at the Banglamung Municipal Fisheries Group Office, with Mr. Porachai Sang-iet, Banglamung District Chief, presiding over the opening ceremony.

Distinguished guests, including Lt. Col. Chareewat Chinnawat, Mayor of Bang Lamung Municipality, and Lt. Col. Rattakorn Khiawpaisan, Director of Laem Chabang Port, attended the ceremony. Mr. Luo Wen, Project Director on behalf of the Joint Venture, highlighted the importance of this activity in mitigating the environmental impact of the Laem Chabang Port Development Project Phase 3 (Section 1) Marine Construction.

The initiative saw the release of blue swimming crabs and black tiger shrimp into Banglamung Bay. This effort, supported by community fisheries groups and various government, private, and public sector agencies, aimed to restore marine biodiversity and honor the Queen Mother’s birthday on August 12, 2024, which is also celebrated as National Mother’s Day in Thailand.
