Banglamung, August 6th, 2024 – In a concerted effort to improve the quality of life for local residents, Mr. Wikit Manarojkij, the Chief of Banglamung District, chaired a meeting with the heads of various government agencies at the Banglamung District Office. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing projects and initiatives.
Scholarship Project for Youth Development
The Banglamung District Office highlighted the scholarship project which is aimed at enhancing the quality of life and promoting education for underprivileged children and youth in the district. This initiative ensures that disadvantaged children have access to education. Additionally, the office will visit Ban Map Fak Thong School in the Huai Yai Subdistrict on August 20th to follow up on the government’s lunch program.
“Stable Family, Healthy Society” Project
Mr. Kitti Boonrattananet, the District Public Health Officer, presented the “Stable Family, Healthy Society” project for 2024. This pilot project involves 10 families each from Nong Prue and Huai Yai Subdistricts. The Public Health Office has identified families with specific needs, including bedridden patients and those with health issues. The project aims to provide essential items such as diapers, walkers, and wheelchairs, funded by the sub-district budget. Visits to these families are scheduled for the 3rd or 4th week of August to offer support and encouragement.
Fisheries Office Report
The Banglamung District Fisheries Office at the meeting also reported on the spread of black chin tilapia in neighboring provinces and the potential risk of an outbreak in Chonburi Province. To prevent the spread, the Chonburi Provincial Fisheries Office has advised aquatic animal farmers and fishermen to avoid using minced black chin tilapia in farming and as bait for crab traps. The public is urged to report any sightings of black chin tilapia to the Chonburi Provincial Fisheries Office.
