A motorcyclist collided with a pickup truck after trying to avoid a dog running onto the street in Pattaya on the late night of August 5th, 2024.
At 11:00 PM on August 5th, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation was alerted to a motorcycle accident on Soi Santisuk 12, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Rescue volunteers quickly responded to the scene.
There, authorities found a bronze Isuzu D-Max pickup truck. The driver, Mr. Apivath Kamnet, 33, was uninjured. Nearby, a red and black Honda Wave 100 motorcycle was found. The injured rider, approximately 20-30 years old, was discovered underneath the truck. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before swiftly transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Mr. Apivath, the pickup truck driver, told The Pattaya News that while he was driving through the Soi, he noticed the motorcycle rider trying to overtake him at a curve. The motorcycle rider then suddenly swerved and collided with his truck. Fortunately, he was driving at a low speed and was able to brake, but the injured rider still slid under the truck. After the accident, Mr. Apivath immediately called for rescue services.
According to the dash cam footage from the truck, the motorcycle rider swerved while trying to avoid a street dog running onto the road. Pattaya Police collected the footage as evidence and will proceed with appropriate legal action.
