Pattaya —
Pattaya City recently held a public consultation meeting to gather feedback on the Red Line Monorail project’s second phase.
The meeting included presentations on environmental impact mitigation measures and the route for the monorail. Participants, which included numerous locals, were able to review and suggest improvements to the relevant authorities to ensure that the project aligns with people’s needs.
Initially, authorities revealed that the Red Line Monorail Project will span from Dolphin Roundabout to the Eastern National Stadium, covering approximately 17.37 kilometers.
The Red Line project aims to improve public transport while minimizing traffic disruption. Although the project comes with relatively high construction and maintenance costs, authorities stated that the project is expected to greatly enhance Pattaya’s tourism.
The project will include 10 stations, spaced 800-1,000 meters apart, with walking distances of 400-500 meters. The investment for the project will be a public-private partnership, supporting Pattaya’s goal to become a key tourism hub within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
There is, notes TPN Media, no ETA for when construction or completion of the project will take place, which has been discussed for decades.
