Pattaya– On July 30th, 2024, Pattaya City launched a nature restoration project aimed at promoting ecotourism and revitalizing the Na Kluea area’s ecosystem.
The event, held at Khlong Nok Yang in Naklua saw the participation of local officials, including Mr. Poramese Ngampiches (Mayor of Pattaya City), Mr. Manoch Nongyai (Deputy Mayor), and Mr. Phumipat Kamolnat (Secretary to the Mayor). Ms. Yathasuda Pholratcham, Director of the Pollution Control Division, acted as the reporter for the ceremony.
The Naklua area, nestled within Pattaya City, is a historic community that blends Thai and Chinese cultures. It boasts old markets, seafood markets, temples, shrines, and opportunities for local fishing and cycling. Notably, it hosts the last remaining mangrove forest in Pattaya.
Recognizing the significance of preserving this ecosystem, Pattaya City’s Natural Resources Department organized a mangrove planting activity, planting 100 trees along Khlong Nok Yang. The initiative aims to enhance tourism while restoring the area’s natural resources, ensuring a harmonious balance between human activity and nature.
