Chonburi Driver Crashes into Furniture Store, Narrowly Misses Owners Bedroom

Chonburi —

A sedan driver veered off the road and crashed into a furniture store in Chonburi’s Phanat Nikhom district early this morning, August 1st, 2024. The car narrowly missed the store owner who was sleeping inside the store.

The crash happened around 5:00 AM while the store owner, Ms. Aorapin Khantapham, 57, was in her bedroom. She was startled by a loud noise and found that a sedan had smashed through her store and damaged several pieces of furniture for sale inside. Fortunately, the car stopped only 2 meters away from her bedroom, narrowly missing Ms. Aorapin and avoiding a potentially fatal outcome.

The crash was captured on security cameras, showing the sedan, a bronze Honda Civic, travelling at high speed. The vehicle then suddenly lost control and slammed into the roadside furniture store.

Phanat Nikhom Police responded to the scene and found the driver, an unidentified Thai woman, had sustained minor head injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment by local rescue teams.

Ms. Aorapin revealed to local media that she is still assessing the damage caused by the incident. She will have a conversation about financial compensation with the driver once the latter makes a recovery.
