Pattaya —
A thief was captured on security cameras roaming an apartment building in Pattaya’s Soi Buakhao and sneaking into unlocked rooms to steal valuables.
On July 28th, 2024, local reporters visited S.B. Apartments in Soi Buakhao, Pattaya, Chonburi, after the apartment owner released security camera footage revealing a brazen thief’s attempt to steal valuables. The footage, shared on social media for public awareness, shows the thief trying on multiple rooms’ door knobs in the building.
According to Ms. Namtan, a 35-year-old apartment owner (real name withheld upon request), the incident occurred at 3:42 AM on July 20th. A man, believed to be Thai and between 30 and 35 years old, arrived on a motorcycle. He then crept into the building and tried opening door handles on almost every room from the ground floor to the third floor. He managed to enter a foreign tenant’s room and stole items including a digital camera and other valuables before fleeing.
Ms. Namtan stated that the thief exploited a period when some tenant had left the building’s keycard door open to gain access. The thief was also seen holding something in his pocket while trying the doors. Ms. Namtan believed the man may have had a weapon, so she urged local police to arrest him as soon as possible to protect her tenants.
