National —

On July 19th, 2024, Thai national media reported that Mr. Nithi Siprae, the Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for marketing communications, announced a new campaign to boost domestic tourism. This initiative will feature the popular Butterbear character.

TAT plans to harness the charm of Butterbear to inspire people to explore Thailand, aiming to bring joy and smiles to domestic and international travelers. The campaign targets high-spending women and other Butterbear fans, with the goal of reaching over 20 million impressions and encouraging at least 100,000 actual trips, generating an estimated 100 million baht.

This will also stimulate spending in restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops, remarked Nithi.

Nithi detailed a variety of activities to engage diverse audiences, including Vlogs, lifestyle photos, social media promotions, joint press conferences, and fan meeting events in new locations outside Bangkok, such as Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, and Chachoengsao.

The collaboration with Butterbear is expected to span 3-6 months, enhancing tourism and local economies, concluded Nithi.
