Mr. Theerasak Chatupong, Head of the Pattaya City Permanent Secretary’s Office, presided over the opening ceremony. The event featured reports from Mr. Charan Thiammuang, Head of the Maritime Disaster Prevention Department and Acting Director of the Disaster Prevention Division. Attendees included Mr. Surin Yimyai and Mr. Jirawat Proudchai, members of the Pattaya City Council, Mr. Decha Rueang-on, head of the Chonburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, and Mr. Chatchawan Phinsiri, president of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office of Pattaya City and Chonburi Province, along with heads of relevant government agencies.
The training aligns with Pattaya city administrators’ policy to address potential natural disasters or human-caused dangers that could harm the lives and property of residents and tourists in Pattaya and nearby areas.
The Land Disaster Prevention Department, under the Pattaya City Permanent Secretary’s Office, organized the training from July 15-19, 2024, spanning five days. The objective is for trainees to apply the knowledge gained from expert lecturers to prevent dangers that may arise at any time.
Under the Ministry of Interior’s regulations concerning Civil Defense Volunteer Units the training not only equips volunteers with the ability to protect themselves and assist others but also prepares them to support Pattaya City’s operations during disasters.
A total of 109 participants attended the training, with expert staff from the Chonburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office serving as lecturers.
