At 7:30 AM, on July 18th, 2024, Sam Phran police received a report of a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles crashing into two loose horses on Borommaratchachonnani Road, Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the bodies of two horses on the right lane of the expressway. A van was severely damaged, and two sedans had collided with its rear following the initial crash with the horses.
According to officers, Mr. Weerayut Lertnatee, a 55-year-old sedan driver, stated that he was on his way to work, following the van. The van reportedly first collided directly with one of the horses.
Mr. Weerayut then hit the second horse before crashing into the van’s rear, along with another sedan. Weerayut expressed confusion and shock, witnessing the two fatally hit horses and uncertain of their origin.
Shortly after the accident, Ms. Preedalak Jinda, 30, came forward, declaring ownership of the horses. She explained that the horses had escaped from her nearby pet cafe, “The Frog Prince Cafe,” which houses various animals.
The escaped horses were 10-year-old females. It remains unclear how they managed to escape from their pen, leading to the tragic accident.
Ms. Preedalak, the cafe owner, has committed to compensating the drivers of the damaged vehicles and those affected by the incident. She expressed profound sadness over the loss of her beloved pets and the ensuing damage.
