Pattaya —
A 15-year-old boy was apprehended by police after allegedly stealing a motorcycle and causing an accident in Pattaya early today, July 17th, 2024.
The incident occurred at 3:30 AM in Soi Khao Noi, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Emergency responders went to the scene following reports of the accident to find a Honda Wave 125 motorcycle, driven by a 15-year-old boy identified only as Mr. Neoy, colliding with a Honda Civic car, driven by Mr. Kanphat Muenhan, 38.
Mr. Neoy, whose full name was withheld by authorities due to his age, sustained a broken left arm and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Mr. Kanphat was unharmed.
According to Mr. Kanphat, he was making a U-turn in the alley and did not notice the motorcycle of the injured boy, causing him to collide with the boy. After the accident, he immediately exited his car to help the boy and called the authorities for assistance.
In a surprising twist, Mr. Chutikarn Panyadee, 45, later reported to the police that the motorcycle driven by the boy had been stolen from him. He earlier reported the theft to the Banglamung Police Station at 12:30 AM today. He then learned that the motorcycle had been involved in an accident and went to see it.
Mr. Chutikarn stated that he knew the boy because the latter often visited his home. Mr. Chutikarn claimed that the boy previously stole a phone from him, but the boy’s mother begged him not to take the matter to the police. However, the boy stole from him again, and Mr. Chutikarn said he now intended to pursue legal action.
The suspect was taken into custody by the police after receiving medical treatment. He is expected to face charges related to motorcycle theft and causing an accident.
