Pattaya Police Round Up Four Thais for Allegedly Dealing Illegal Drugs

A team of police officers from the Pattaya Police Station conducted a series of raids on July 17th, 2024, leading to the arrest of four alleged Thai drug agents and seizure of a significant amount of meth, ketamine, and firearms.

Under the command of Pol. Col. Navin Teerawit, Chief of the Pattaya Police Station, the operation targeted drug networks operating in Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The first raid resulted in the arrest of Mr. Suwanchai “Tao” Saenmuangma, 29, at a hardware store entrance in South Pattaya. Officers confiscated 6.3 grams of ketamine, copies of Thai banknotes used for undercover operations, and a mobile phone, from the suspect.

Following Mr. Suwanchai’s interrogation, police planned another sting operation to arrest his supplier, identified only as Mr. Yanawut, 28. The Thai man was arrested on Soi Khao Noi with 199.5 grams of ketamine, 103.5 grams of collagen, a digital scale, plastic bags, a Colt M1991A1 .45 caliber pistol, two ammunition magazines, 42 .45 caliber rounds, and a mobile phone.

Further investigation led officers to a hotel on Soi Mab Yai Lai. There, officers arrested another two suspects, named only as Mr. Phanudech, 20, and Mr. Anupornchai, 26. Police found on the two Thais’ 1.7 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, 600 baht in cash, copies of banknotes used for undercover operations, and a mobile phone.

The four suspects are currently in custody for legal proceedings.
