Two Thai people, including an 18-year-old man, were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash that took place in Pattaya early July 14th, 2024.
At around 3:30 AM yesterday, Sawang Boriboon rescue workers were notified of a severe head-on collision between two motorcycles on Boon Samphan Road, Soi 14, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. They immediately responded to the scene.
According to reports, the incident unfolded on the left lane of the road, where the right lane was temporarily closed due to ongoing roadwork. Rescuers arrived at the scene to find broken motorbike parts scattered around the road.
A black Honda Wave 125i motorcycle was found overturned and severely damaged at the front. Nearby, its rider, a Thai man approximately 20-30 years old with no identification documents, was discovered severely injured. He was lying in a pool of blood and crying in pain.
The other motorcycle involved was a pink-black Honda Scoopy i. It was also found overturned and severely damaged at the front. Its rider, Mr. Nattaran Noiwes, 18, was seriously injured, with swelling around his eye socket and a head wound. Additionally, his 16-year-old female passenger sustained a minor laceration on her left eyebrow and abrasions on her body.
All three victims were transported to a nearby local hospital for medical treatment.
According to the 16-year-old passenger, she and her boyfriend were on their way to buy food when the accident occurred. She stated that they were driving straight when the Honda Wave 125i rider abruptly switched lanes and collided head-on with their motorcycle.
Police officers from the Nongprue Police Station are investigating the accident.
