Pattaya —
At 9:30 AM, on July 11th, 2024, Pattaya Deputy Mayor Mr. Manoch Nongyai, presided at the Recycled Waste Almsgiving Project for the Suan Kaew Foundation (Phra Phayom Kalayano) in accordance with Pattaya’s waste management campaign at Mueang Pattaya 7 school.
Pattaya City is grappling with an overwhelming 500 tons of daily waste, posing serious environmental concerns. To combat this, the city has initiated a novel approach by launching a recycling drive called the “Recycled Waste Almsgiving Project.”
This initiative, part of Pattaya’s waste management campaign, aims to educate and involve residents and students in reducing community waste and promoting responsible waste handling.
The project, spearheaded by the Natural Resources and Environment Office, focuses on educating the public about proper waste reduction. The goal is to significantly cut down Pattaya’s waste through community participation and to promote recycling.
Residents are encouraged to donate unused items such as electronics, furniture, books, construction materials, and other items. These donations, collected since June 10th, 2024, will be handed over to the Suan Kaew Foundation to be distributed to the needy or sold at affordable prices, benefiting low-income individuals.
This initiative not only aids those in need but also promotes waste segregation and reuse, adhering to the 3Rs principle: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
