18-Year-Old Big Bike Rider Seriously Injured in Sattahip Accident

An 18-year-old big bike rider crashed into the back of a sedan in Chonburi’s Sattahip district on the morning of July 9th, 2024. The rider suffered serious injuries.

The Sawang Boriboon Rojana Thammasathan Sattahip Foundation received a report of a motorcycle accident involving a big bike and a car at 7:30 AM today. The incident occurred on Sukhumvit Road inbound to Sattahip in the Na Jomtien sub-district. Rescuers urgently went to the scene.

Upon arrival, rescuers found a large crowd gathered around the accident site. On the road, a black Honda CB 650 big bike was lying on its side, with severe front-end damage. Nearby, the rider, identified only as Mr. P (surname withheld due to his age), 18, was found lying on the median strip in a semi-conscious state. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

30 meters away from the motorcycle, rescue workers found a white Mitsubishi car with severe damage to the rear end on the driver’s side. Its unidentified driver was waiting at the scene to provide statement to the police. He was not injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the big bike was speeding in the right lane when it lost control and slammed into the back of the car, which was also in the same lane. The impact caused the motorcycle rider to sustain serious injuries.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the exact cause of the accident and determine who was at fault.
