On July 7th, 2024, Thai Government spokesperson Chai Watcharong announced that Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is committed to enhancing Thailand’s airports to international standards.

The aim is to elevate service standards and aviation safety to international levels, propelling Thailand’s aviation industry towards becoming the regional aviation hub.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit is spearheading efforts to meet the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States standards, enhancing aviation safety and expanding flight routes to the U.S. and other countries.

Suriya aims to position Thailand as a regional Aviation Hub. Suvarnabhumi Airport has been ranked among the top 58 airports globally for 2024, rising from 68th in 2023. Meanwhile, Don Mueang Airport is among the top 10 best low-cost airline terminals worldwide.
