Over 100 People Test Positive for Drugs in Massive Raid at the Nasa Club in Mueang, Chonburi

Chonburi —

At 1:30 PM on June 15th, 2024, Don Hua Lo police, along with more than 150 officers from relevant agencies, conducted a raid on the “Nasa” club in Mueang, Chonburi.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd of visitors enjoying the nightlife. Realizing the police presence, many attempted to flee and dispose of illicit substances, leading officers to discover packages of drugs on the ground and in the toilets.

The “Nasa” entertainment venue was reportedly serving food and alcoholic beverages to its patrons without holding valid operating licenses.

During the raid, one individual was arrested on a narcotics warrant, eight individuals were detained for distributing illicit substances, 105 people tested positive for drugs, and one person was found to be under the age of 18.

The establishment’s owner, whose name has been withheld by the police, faces multiple felony charges, including operating without legal permission, selling alcohol illegally, operating beyond legal hours, distributing illicit substances, and allowing minors on the premises. As a result, Thai authorities will issue a proposal for an order to the Chonburi Governor to shut down the “Nasa” club for five years.

This operation aligns with the Thai government’s policies to maintain public order and enforce laws against non-compliant entertainment providers. The police remain committed to tackling illegal activities and ensuring the safety of citizens and their property.
