Udon Thani —
On June 12th, 2024, Mueang Udon Thani police officers, along with relevant agencies, held a press conference about a raid at a pool villa in Udon Thani, capturing 31 individuals involved in an illegal drug party.
According to the police, on June 10th, police raided the pool villa after receiving a report from Damrongdhama Center and seized a new type of illicit substance hidden in 13 packs of collagen, along with two ecstasy pills and 2.48 grams of ketamine.
Among the 31 individuals detained, 29 were Thai nationals and two were Laotian nationals. The suspects were allegedly distributing this new drug type from Laos to Thailand. Drug tests conducted on the detainees revealed that 15 individuals tested positive for drug use.
The police disclosed that the drug party had a student uniform theme, though the suspects were aged between 20-30. All detainees were escorted to Mueang Udon Thani police station for further legal proceedings, with bail set at 50,000 baht each.
Initial investigations suggest that the new type of illicit collagen was brought to Udon Thani by Laotian individuals specifically for these parties. This information points to a broader network of drug distribution between Laos and Thailand, which the police are actively working to dismantle.
This raid marks the third operation targeting similar drug parties in the area, as part of an ongoing investigation into local drug operations. The police emphasized their commitment to cracking down on these activities and are continuing to investigate the origins and distribution channels of the illicit substances involved.
