Pattaya Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Collision on Dark Road

Pattaya —

A 40-year-old Thai man was seriously injured after his motorbike rear-ended a Fortuner on a dimly lit road in Pattaya on the night of June 13th.

At 7:46 PM, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report of a motorcycle colliding with the rear of a car. The accident occurred on Pattaya Third Road, before the Laem Bali Hai elevated bridge in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene to find an unidentified Thai man lying unconscious in the middle of the road with a severe head injury. Rescue workers and the medical team immediately provided first aid and CPR to revive the victim before transporting him to the nearest hospital.

The victim’s damaged red and white Honda Scoopy I motorcycle was found lying on the road. The car involved in the accident was a white Toyota Fortuner driven by Ms. Samniang Setha, 56. She was waiting at the scene to provide information to the authorities.

According to Ms. Samniang, she was heading towards the Laem Bali Hai elevated bridge when the accident occurred. She claimed that she stopped her car when two cars in front of her stopped in the middle lane, waiting for a car in front of them to turn into an alley. Suddenly, the motorcycle rider slammed into the back of her car before falling to the ground. She immediately got out of her car to check on the victim and called for help.

According to reports from witnesses, the area where the accident occurred was poorly lit. Nearby residents stated that this lack of visibility may have contributed to the accident. They called for relevant authorities to install more lights in the area.
