Pattaya —
Pattaya City recently celebrated LGBTQ+ Pride Month with a flamboyant festival called “Pattaya Community Pride 2024,” held on June 8th, 2024.
The event, co-organized by the City of Pattaya and the SWING Foundation, drew participation from government officials, human rights advocates, tourism representatives, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and thousands of tourists across Pattaya City.
The festivities kicked off with a colorful parade led by the SWING Foundation. The participants marched along Thepprasit Road towards Jomtien Beach and culminated in an opening ceremony at the central stage.
The event offered entertainment across two stages. The central stage featured a model contest, DJ performances, and a free mini-concert. The Jomtien Complex stage provided lively entertainment with performances like Siriporn Ampaipong’s parade truck show.
According to Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, the Pattaya Community Pride 2024 event tremendously helped promote tourism and support rights for LGBTQ+ individuals in the city. It also helps to promote Thailand as the host of the World Pride festival in 2028, further strengthening the country’s position as an LGBTQ+ tourism hub.
