Jomtien —
Two fishermen were rescued after their small fishing boat capsized off Jomtien Beach this morning amidst strong waves and winds. One of the fishermen was seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 7:06 AM today, June 9th. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation received a call about a boat capsizing and two people falling into the water and sustaining injuries.
Upon arriving at the scene, rescue workers found the injured fisherman, identified only as Mr. Natthapong, 30, suffering from water aspiration. They immediately provided first aid and urgently transported him to Pattaya Hospital. The other fisherman, Mr. Phongsak, 25, was found to have only minor injuries and was in a state of shock.
According to Mr. Phongsak, he and Mr. Natthapong had taken their small fishing boat out to sea off Jomtien Beach to catch seafood for sale. The weather was initially calm, but as they were returning to shore, strong waves and winds caused their boat to capsize.
Both fishermen struggled to stay afloat and swim their way back to shore. Unfortunately, Mr. Natthapong had swallowed a lot of water and was in critical condition. The fishermen’s boat submerged to the bottom of the sea.
