Bang Lamung—
At 3:06 AM, on June 8th, 2024, Pattaya City patrol police apprehended a suspect carrying an illegal improvised firearm and one bullet at a restaurant in Soi Kho Phai, Bang Lamung, Chonburi.
According to the police, officers were conducting their routine patrols to inspect entertainment venues and prevent illegal operations and criminal activities. During the patrol, a teenager, later publicly identified as only Mr. Chatchai, aroused suspicion while riding a motorbike behind the officers.
Upon stopping Chatchai for an inspection, the police discovered an improvised firearm and one bullet inside his shoulder bag. Chatchai claimed that he had received the firearm from an individual identified only as Mr. Bird, who had asked him to repair it.
Chatchai explained that upon noticing the patrol police, he attempted to follow them in an effort to avoid arrest. However, the officers’ vigilance led them to apprehend the suspect and seize the firearm. It was unclear why Chatchai thought that following law enforcement would aid him in evading them.
The suspect, along with the .33 caliber improvised firearm, was escorted to Pattaya City police station for further legal proceedings.
