Pattaya Woman Seriously Injured in Collision with 18-Wheeler Truck

A 23-year-old Thai woman was seriously injured after her motorcycle collided with the back of an 18-wheeler truck on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya this morning, June 6th.

The accident occurred at 5:36 AM on Sukhumvit Road on the lane bound to North Pattaya. Sawang Boriboon rescue workers and Pattaya police responded to the site upon receiving the reports.

There, authorities found an 18-wheeler truck, driven by 46-year-old Mr. Thongchai Phuthawee. The truck was carrying a load of sanitary wares. Authorities also found a motorcycle, driven by 22-year-old Ms. Sukhanya Kwanchalerm. The motorcycle was badly damaged, and Ms. Sukhanya was seriously injured. She was rushed to the nearest hospital by rescue workers.

According to the uninjured truck driver, Mr. Thongchai, he was driving slowly in the left lane, preparing to make a delivery, when he heard a noise from behind and saw the motorcycle had collided into his vehicle. He immediately stopped his truck and called police and rescue services for help and was described by authorities as fully cooperative.

Pattaya police are investigating the accident as of press time.
