Pattaya —
A Thai father and son were rescued from Khao Tham Phatun mountain near Pattaya on Sunday evening after getting lost while hiking.
The incident occurred at around 5:46 PM on June 2nd. According to Mr. Prapai Tabonglek, 44, he and his 17-year-old son had gone hiking on the mountain earlier that afternoon. They had parked their car at the Huai Luek Reservoir and had been hiking for a few hours when they realized they were lost.
Mr. Prapai shared with The Pattaya News that he and his son had tried to find their way back down the mountain on their own, but they kept getting lost. Fortunately, they had seen a sign with the phone number for the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation attached to a tree before they started their hike, so they called the foundation for help.
The rescuers, some who were familiar with the area, instructed the pair to walk along the power lines to a nearby goat pen. There, Mr. Prapai and his son eventually met the rescuers.
The father and his son were both unharmed. They were very grateful to the rescue team for their help. Mr. Prapai stated he will be more careful in the future.
