Banglamung –
A man was stabbed to death by his colleague behind a shopping mall in Nongprue on Saturday morning (May 25th).
Lieutenant Colonel Jeerasak Abfang of the Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 8:10 A.M.. at a warehouse of a supermarket (Top in The Chilled) in Soi Khao Noi. Police, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team, and The Pattaya News rushed to the scene.
On the floor at the entrance of the product delivery area rescue teams found Mr. Manit Lohsan, 34, who was unconscious with no pulse and bleeding heavily. Stab wounds were found on his chest and belly and he was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was hiding in a storage room nearby and was immediately arrested. He was found to have a knife on his person. The suspect was later identified by police as Mr. Phawat Teangtham, 48. He had sustained facial injuries and he was also a staff member at the supermarket.
The suspect told police that Mr. Manit allegedly smacked him first while he was working. He asked Mr. Manit why he did that but Mr. Manit responded only by hitting him again. The suspect then used a knife to fight back, claiming self-defense.
Their work colleague, identified only as Mr. Thongchai, told police that he heard a verbal argument before seeing the suspect stabbing Mr. Manit. Other work colleagues tried to stop the fight but unfortunately were too late.
Mr. Phawat was taken to the Nongprue Police Station for further legal action.
