Pattaya City Officials Subdue Agitated Foreigner

Pattaya —

Officers from the Pattaya City Municipality subdued an agitated foreign man who caused quite a stir at a local business on Monday, May 20th.

Around noon, Pattaya City’s 1337 hotline received a call from concerned residents reporting a foreign man behaving erratically in front of a local insurance office on Chaiyapruek 1 Road.

Pattaya City officials, including municipal officers, peacekeepers, and the Pattaya Mobile Rescue Team, arrived at the scene to investigate.

Upon their arrival, they encountered a tall, unidentified foreign man exhibiting signs of agitation and confusion. The man who may have been of German nationality was seen wandering aimlessly around the area shouting and talking to himself, wearing no shirt and causing alarm among local businesses and residents.

Fortunately, the officials quickly managed to calm the agitated man down. The man did not hurt or cause damage to any property, the officials said. However, upon searching his backpack, they discovered a packet of cannabis, which is currently legal in Thailand but under major debate. It was unclear, however, if this had contributed to his behaviour. No identification documents were found on the man.

The officials further conversed with the man, urging him to return to his accommodation. The man complied and left the scene peacefully on a motorbike. He did not state his name but did pose for photos with police in good spirits.
