Ten Korean Gamblers Arrested in Pattaya Area

Ten Korean gamblers were arrested at a gambling den in a coffee shop in Banglamung on Friday (May 17th).

The Pattaya Police Chief Colonel Nawin Teerawit told the Pattaya News that at 9:36 P.M. they raided the gambling den inside a coffee shop in Nongprue. Foreign gamblers were found playing poker gambling.

Nine Korean gamblers, a Korean gambling leader, and a Thai owner were arrested. Seized from them was a poker table, poker cards, chips, and 160,000 Baht in cash. The raid came after police were notified by a concerned citizen that there was a gambling den inside the coffee shop. All Korean gamblers were found to have legally entered Thailand and had valid visas.. Police did not reveal further details about the Koreans.

The Thai man arrested was revealed as Mr. Puerk Prasompan, 46. He and all the Korean men were taken to the Pattaya City Police Station for further legal action.
