Pattaya —
A fire gutted a Turkish tourist’s house in Pattaya on Thursday night, May 9th.
The incident occurred at 9:06 PM at a house in the Classic Villa Village located on Phatthanakan Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
The fire was reported to the Nongprue Municipal Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office and the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation. Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story house engulfed in flames. The fire was spreading quickly and causing heavy smoke. Firefighters and rescue workers immediately sprayed water to extinguish the fire. It took about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters entered the house to inspect the damage. They found that several cans of spray paint and electrical appliances had been burned. The house itself had sustained minor damage.
The tenant of the house, Mr. Ismail Ceyhun Balaban, a 29-year-old Turkish national, stated that he was not at home at the time of the fire. He also did not know what caused it.
Mr. Paiboon Thongma, a 53-year-old resident of the village, said that he smelled smoke and heard an explosion at the front of the house before flames suddenly erupted. He then immediately called the fire department.
