Massive Drug Seizure: 1.1 Million Amphetamine Pills Confiscated in Chiang Rai

On December 17th, 2023, Thai narcotics suppression officers received a report of drug smuggling at the border of Thailand in Mae Ai, Chiang Rai. There were reportedly more than 1.1 million pills of amphetamine confiscated.

According to a report by police officers, an alleged drug smuggler who was publicly identified as Mr. Jajae Jasu, 24, would transport illicit substances from the Thai border to a house in Mueang Chiang Rai. The police officers then tracked down the suspect after receiving a report from an anonymous source.

However, Jajae, the suspect, was alerted by an unknown source and had escaped before the police arrived. The police were able to confiscate more than 1.1 million pills of amphetamine stored at the house in sacks.
Initially, the narcotics suppression officers confiscated the property in dispute and pledged to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes, including tracking down Jajae.
