Pattaya —
The runoff from heavy rain early this morning caused concerning erosion on Pattaya Beach.
Runoff into the sea from the downpour, which occurred 20 minutes past midnight today, October 10th, has badly eroded Pattaya Beach, leaving many long and deep scours.
The torrential rain pounded Pattaya City for more than two hours early this morning, causing significant erosion as the runoff flowed down to the beach and swept sand into the Pattaya sea.
The inspection by city officials this morning uncovered many trenches on the reinforced beach, some as deep as 1 meter and 4 meters wide. Additionally, there was an unhealthy amount of debris that had been carried there by rainwater.
Apart from the erosion, a section of Pattaya Beach Road in front of Soi 6, which is currently under renovation, was damaged by the runoff. City officials said that the water washed away some of the recently laid asphalt, causing many small potholes. However, officials were quick to address the issue as they already repaired the road.

Pattaya officials will soon address the erosion problem as well promising to use construction equipment to fill in the beach holes.
