Chonburi —

A 17-year-old construction worker died after falling from a roof in the Pong sub-district of Chonburi on Thursday morning, August 31st.

The incident occurred at a luxurious house under construction in Soi Nong Ta Un in the Banglamung district.

The victim, whose name was withheld due to his age, was working on the roof with another worker and his uncle, Suphon Janhom, 52, when he fell about 5 meters to the ground.

Suphon told police that he had warned his 17-year-old nephew to be careful, as he had almost fallen from the roof the day before. However, the victim slipped and fell the next day, fatatally breaking his neck and skull.

His aunt, Ms. Aphasra Janthawari, 41, said that she had brought her nephew to work with her to help him earn some money. She added that he had almost fallen from the roof the day before, but Suphon had been able to grab him in time.

Police are investigating the incident, but they believe that the victim’s death was accidental. His body was sent to a local hospital.
