Pattaya Police and Immigration Find Nothing Illegal During Midnight Luxury Karaoke Inspection

Pattaya —

Pattaya Police and immigration inspected a crowded karaoke shop at half an hour past midnight, yesterday, June 6th. They found nothing illegal.

The inspection, which was carried out in line with the Royal Thai Police’s policies to intercept illegal activities and overstayers, targeted a popular karaoke spot named Planet situated on Pattaya Third Road in Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat 3 in the Nong Prue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

At 0:30 AM, the authorities found that two tables were occupied by many patrons, one table with Thai individuals and the other with foreign nationals. They then asked to check the patrons’ ID cards and passports to see if any were under 18 years old or had expired passports. Every individual was clear, according to authorities.

Pattaya Police pledged that they would conduct a similar inspection on a regular basis.

Police recently also raided a similar venue, Tomorrow Land, but also found everything in order.

Both of these karaoke raids came after a well publicized raid of a luxury karaoke in Bangkok catering to Chinese nationals that resulted in dozens of Chinese arrested for alleged drug use. However, police declined to say if the Pattaya raids were directly connected.
