Pattaya Restaurant Owner Asks for Help Catching Dine and Dasher

Pattaya –

A man who claimed he knew an important politician allegedly dined and dashed at a Pattaya area Thai restaurant, leaving a bill of almost a thousand baht unpaid for.

Mrs. Jinwara Rebedef, the owner of the ‘Kin Kab Kia’ restaurant on the Thepprasit Road told the Pattaya News about the incident along with presenting reporters with CCTV footage.

On Friday (June 2nd) a well-dressed Thai man came into the venue and ordered food and drank multiple beers. He talked with her claiming he was working for a local politician and said he was waiting for his boss to pay for his bill. At times the suspect went to the front of the restaurant for a smoke then came back into the restaurant.

When Mrs. Jinwara was at the back of the restaurant cleaning the suspect suddenly jumped up and sped away on a motorbike. She tried to chase after him but failed.

Mrs. Jinwara said this was the second time that customers left without paying their bills. She said she only gets about a few hundred baht of margin/profit each day and these incidents hurt her significantly financially. The man did not pay his bill for about a thousand baht.

Mrs. Jinwara added that if anyone knows the man, please tell him to come back to pay his bill. Pattaya police are aware of the incident and looking into the situation.

Both Mrs. Jinwara and Pattaya police did not believe the claims of the man that he worked for a local politician, the name of whom was not specifically released by relevant parties.
