Four People Dead After SUV Full of Migrant Workers Overturns and Catches on Fire in Ayutthaya

Four people have been pronounced dead after a SUV carrying migrant workers overturned and caught fire in the Bang Pa-in district.

The Phra-in Racha Police was notified of the accident after midnight (June 1st) on the Asia Road in the Cheang Rark sub-district. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find that a SUV Benz SsangYong Musso was engulfed by flames. It took 20 minutes for firefighters to control the fire and the SUV was totally destroyed.

Four people were found deceased inside the vehicle. Six people who had escaped from the fire sustained various injuries and they were taken to nearby hospitals. They were all reportedly migrant workers who had illegally entered Thailand.

Police are identifying the names and nationalities of those injured and deceased and continuing their investigation.
