The accident was reported to Pattaya Police at 02:20 AM today. The police and Sawang Boriboon rescuers rushed to Sukhumvit Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung District, Chonburi province, to help the young victim reported to have crashed his motorbike.

At the scene of the accident, authorities found a red Scoopy i motorbike with a broken frontal part on the road. A short distance from the vehicle was a young male Thai teenager lying face-down in a pool of blood. He had suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the site by Pattaya Police.

The teen was reported to be only 15-years-old, according to police. His name was withheld due to his age. His body was transported to Banglamung Hospital to await funeral arrangements.

According to the police’s hypothesis, the child might have ridden his motorbike at high speed and slipped due to a wet road. It was also raining lightly at the time of the accident. The police said they would investigate the cause of the accident further because there were no eyewitnesses to the accident.

The Pattaya News notes that Thailand’s minimum age to drive a motor vehicle is 18, and to drive a motorcycle is 15.
