Sri Racha —
A Thai man on a motorbike rear-ended a pickup truck that was making a U-turn in Sri Racha and passed away.
The fatal accident, which occurred on a road within the Nong Kham sub-district of Sri Racha district, Chonburi province, was reported to Sri Racha Police at 05:00 AM on Saturday, May 20th. The police coordinated with rescue workers from the Puthasamakhom Foundation and rushed to the scene.
At the accident site, police found a black Honda PCX motorbike lying in the middle of the road surrounded by scattered bike fragments. Its frontal part was demolished. The police also found a bronze Izuzu pickup truck with a crumpled rear parked on the road near the motorcycle.
At the middle of the street, police discovered the body of 30-year-old Mr. Worachart Wangklang, a Thai citizen from the northeastern Khon Kaen province. He was still alive but had sustained serious injures, so rescuers immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital. However, the victim later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Sri Racha Police questioned the involved driver of a pickup truck, Mr. Somchat Ruemsri, 35, about the accident. The man claimed he was heading for a U-turn in the middle of the road after finishing filling up his gas tank when the deceased suddenly rammed into his rear. Mr. Somchat, according to his claims, immediately contacted the police.
Sri Racha Police are examining CCTV cameras of the scene to confirm the involved driver’s statement.
