National —
Deputy national police chief Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimon arranged an active shooter training yesterday, May 15th, to tackle rising crimes in the country.
150 police officers attended the training at the Border Patrol Police Headquarters in the Cha-am district of Phetchaburi province, western Thailand.
Injuries and loss of life among police officers were mainly because of their lack of skills and expertise in combat techniques when dealing with armed perpetrators, so it was crucial for officers to train regularly, he said.
Officials from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were also invited as course instructors. This collaboration between the FBI and Royal Thai Police served to strengthen relationships between the two organizations, the deputy national police chief revealed.
