Pattaya Police Bust Karaoke Venues for Violating Multiple Laws

  Two karaoke shops in Pattaya were raided early this morning for allegedly operating past legal closing times, allowing minors to enter the venues, and letting patrons take illegal drugs in the venues.

At 03:20 AM today, May 11th, Pattaya Police raided two karaoke shops in the middle of Pattaya and arrested many individuals.

Pol. Lt.Col. Kongphon Dechakhampoo from the Pattaya Police Station told The Pattaya News that he had received a complaint from concerned citizens that two karaoke bars operated beyond the legal hours of closing of 2:00 A.M. in entertainment zones and violated multiple other laws.

At the first bar, “Nuum Karaoke”, police found a 17-year-old inside the venue. Urine tests also revealed that nine bar patrons had used drugs.

At the second unnamed establishment, 3 people also tested positive for drugs. They were put in police custody to await legal action. All arrested individuals were Thai nationals, said police.

Pattaya Police are also pursuing legal action against three unidentified bar operators.
