Pattaya —

Pattaya deputy mayor Manoch Nongyai inspected Thepprasit Road following two recent accidents which claimed the lives of two Thai drivers.

One of the accidents happened last Monday when a motorcyclist tried to navigate his motorbike around a road construction detour on Threpprasit Road and fatally crashed into a Chinese tour bus. The man died on the spot.

Yesterday, May 2nd, Manoch and a team of officials from the Pattaya Office of Technicians visited the road. He said the road was partially blocked with construction blockage to allow roadwork, which was the reason the route was prone to accidents.

However, Pattaya City officials are not overlooking the matter and are seeking solutions to reduce accidents. As a short-term solution, Manoch instructed his team to inspect the lighting in narrow areas and to clearly mark the speed limit in areas where construction is taking place or where the road is narrow.

The deputy mayor also instructed construction workers to keep a close watch on the area, particularly during the night, as most accidents tend to occur during this time.
