Bangkok —

A Thai transgender woman was arrested in Bangkok on an accusation of stealing a Sri Lankan tourist’s $5,500 USD while he slept in his hotel.

The victim, identified only as Mr. S, 30, reportedly invited the suspect, Napatsara “Lookpad” Aomsin, a 30-year-old transgender woman, to his hotel room to watch a movie in the Huai Khwang district after meeting and drinking liquor with them in the Asok Montri area around 4 AM on April 9th.

Mr. S of Sri Lankan nationality later felt asleep in his room and woke up at around 8 AM in the morning to find that his cash of 5,500 U.S. dollars or 189,310 baht, had vanished along with the suspect.

Consequently, the tourist filed a report with Huai Khwang Police, leading to Napatsara’s arrest at their room in the Charansanitwong district.

Napatsara denied the allegations, but police still charged them with burglary at night before taking them to the Huai Khwang Police Station for legal action.
