Drunk Chonburi Man Prank Calls Police Claiming There Was a Shooting and Gets Arrested

Pattaya —

A drunk Thai prankster was arrested after he prank called police to claim that there was a shooting in the Huay Yai area around 10 PM last night, April 16th.

Huay Yai Police responded to the shooting report yesterday near the Yang Yai temple in the Huay Yai sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers spotted a crowd of people circling a Thai man identified as Mr. Apisit Sae-sow. The man appeared intoxicated, and it seemed that he was the one who called the police, according to the locals.

There was no shooting or any violent incident in the area at that time, the villagers told police. They also rebuked Mr. Apisit, saying he often caused trouble, annoyed others, and even brandished a knife to threaten villagers once when he got drunk.

The man was taken to the Huay Yai Police station to sober up. He would be released once he regained his senses, according to police, although it was unclear if any charges would be pressed against him.
