A man slashed and injured two staffers of a convenience store with a knife near Jomtien Beach.
The Pattaya City Police was notified of the incident on Saturday morning (March 18th) at a convenience store. Police and the Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the suspect Mr. Nopanan Kamsit, 53, who had injuries to his head and was bleeding heavily.
The other two people injured, whose names were withheld, were store staffers who had significant neck wounds from the knife attack initiated by Nopanan. The injured staffers were rushed to a local hospital. The convenience store also suffered significant damage from a struggle between the staff and Nopanan.
A taxi motorbike driver and witness Mr. Jaras Wongsoonthorn, 55, told the Pattaya News, “Good Samaritans and I saw staffers were attacked inside the store by Nopanan, appearing to be unprovoked. We used a wooden stick to hit the suspect, which caused his injuries, and caught and detained him before calling police.”
The Pattaya City Police told the Pattaya News that the suspect Mr. Nopanan was taken to a hospital for treatment of his wounds under guard and would after treatment be taken to jail. He was speaking in circles and did not appear fully cognizant or aware of the situation and was unable to answer any immediate questions.
Police are continuing their investigation to see what happened and for further legal action.
